Me and my reading

I have never been much of a book worm. As a kid I never say and read. The only time I would read is when instructed to in class at school. I wasn't a bookworm at all and never got into reading anything.
I guess it was the dawn of computer games🎮, colour television and I much preferred to watch TV 📺or a film 🎬 rather than read.
Over the years I have tried to find something I might be interested in but really struggled. A friend gave me Tony Hawk's around Ireland with a fridge which was brilliant and I read that, in my mind fairly quickly, a month or so and made me chuckle out loud. This was a particular annoyance of my wife whilst she was either reading or trying to sleep!
Since then I have picked up. A collection of travel ✈️ books by Bill Bryson and read a couple.
The Harry Potter books absolutely grabbed me as they came out and I really couldn't put them down. Whilst not everyone's cup of tea ☕ I really enjoyed them and gave me a new love of books.
This blog is about my new love of books. Since starting my new job this summer (2023) I have read 4 books in 4 months. This is something unheard of for me. The last one was literally days from start to finish! So I decided to write a little synopsis, no spoilers, but a short blog about the books I have read as a record of them and also a reminder of what they were about.
If you enjoy the blog or have suggestions about other books you think I should read then let me know.
